A Little About Me
I was born in Puerto Rico. My family moved to Laredo when I was six, and I graduated from United High School. I met my husband, Aldo, shortly after high school, and we married in 2009. We have four beautiful children: Dominic, Daniela, Charley, and Emma.
After graduating from TAMIU with a Bachelor of Arts in History, I quickly landed my dream job at VMT. During my years here, I have taught PAP World Geography, PAP World History, AP U.S. History, AP U.S, Government, and Economics. Last year, I had the incredible honor of being named VMT's Teacher of the Year and nominee for LISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
When I am not teaching or planning awesome things for my students to do in class, I enjoy spending time with my family, leading a Girl Scout troop, reading a good book, or watching football. Go Patriots! Because of my passion for history, I am currently pursuing a Masters from TAMIU in history and political thought.
I love to travel and have recently begun a student travel program at VMT. Students and I have travelled to Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Next summer, I will be taking a group to California and another to Costa Rica.
Who am I?
I am a teacher and a mentor. I share my strategies for turning obstacles into opportunity and help people to realize their potential. I am an expert at transformation, and I stand for hope and freedom.
I am a professional dream chaser with a talent for blatant honesty and a mad sense of humor... I use these and other secret mind-bending skills to help motivate people to get over themselves, own their greatness, and start living life on full-throttle.
